The Coalition to Preserve Religious Freedom

The Coalition to Preserve Religious Freedom is a non-partisan, multi-faith network of social-service, education, legal, and other concerned organizations that convenes regularly to consider current congressional and administration policies of concern to faith-based organizations and that helps to educate Congress, the administration, and the press about the religious freedom of community-serving faith-based organizations.

CPRF Principles

To promote religious freedom in public life

To protect the independence and religious character of faith-based organizations that are regulated by government or choose to receive public funds

To preserve the freedom of religious organizations to staff on a religious basis in accordance with their convictions

Protecting the Religious Freedom of Faith-Based Organizations and the People They Serve

The Coalition champions the religious freedom of faith-based organizations to Hill members and staff.  At the same time, the Coalition promotes policies that protect the religious liberty of people seeking help from faith-based providers.  The Coalition is a foremost voice defending the freedom of faith-based organizations to staff on a religious basis—whether or not the organization receives government funds.

Supporting Policies that Strengthen Civil Society

Coalition members favor federal policies that encourage private charitable giving, that do not over-regulate the “independent” sector, and that help build the service capacity of faith-based and community-based organizations.

The Coalition meets approximately every month.  To be notified of meetings, send your request to stanley @ irfalliance dot org.
